不知道大家观看比赛时有没有看到一个细节：中国运动员赛服上的国家英文标志写的是CHN。
我们国家的英文全称是the People s Republic of China，这么重要的国际赛事，为什么不写成PRC？
CHN并不是国家名称简写，而是我国在联合国注册的“国家代码”。

按照国际惯例，国家代码用国家英文名的前三个字母，如韩国国家代码KOR，或者用国家英文全称的每个单词的首字母，如美国国家代码USA。
我们没有选用the People s Republic of China，是因为中国自古就被叫做China，换成首字母缩写PRC难以和China产生联系，所以继续沿用了China的拼写。
为了与智利（Chile，国家代码CHL）、乍得（Chad，国家代码CHA）区分开，最后将我国国家代码确定为CHN。
